Roja is a Radiation Oncology Physicist in Radiation Oncology Department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a Faculty member at the Cedars-Sinai clinical academic structure (Assistant Professor appointment in process). She is also the Associate Director for the underway Cedars-Sinai Radiation Oncology Physics Residency Program and the Chair of two safety and quality working groups in the department. She leads the departmental efforts to further improve our clinical capabilities using deformable image registration, automated segmentation, evaluation and use of different imaging modalities, radiation dose summation, and image-guided adaptive radiotherapy through the use of oncology-specific imaging informatics applications. This is a continuation of her PhD studies on the evaluation and application of different deformable image registration methods for the purpose of radiotherapy dose accumulation. Her PhD studies also focused on toxicity outcome analysis in gynecological cancer patients treated with intracavitary brachytherapy. During her Medical Physics residency training, she conducted research studies in areas of brachytherapy and image fusion in external beam radiation therapy, which were both presented at conferences and also won the Department of Radiation Oncology Chair, Choice Award for Academic Excellence in Research at University of Toronto Resident and Fellows Research Day. Throughout her doctoral studies, residency program and at her current position, she has also been engaged in teaching undergraduate and graduate students and residents on various physics subjects.
